TDGA’s annual elections are approaching, with a nominating period starting Oct. 15 for the offices of treasurer (2 yr. term), vice president (2 yr.) and amateur representative (1 yr.). The current officers have indicated they will not seek re-election (though they’ll all still be working hard for the club in other capacities). We need some folks to step forward to fill these spots and help guide the TDGA into the future, and we have many initiatives that require some thoughtful governance. If you’re interested in finding out what these positions entail, read the TDGA Constitution, linked here and always on the About the Club page. Nominating forms will soon be made available so keep an eye out. Also, this year, we will pilot an electronic voting system, as well as paper balloting, to increase convenience and participation. If you have any questions, reach out to any club officer or use the contact link on this page.
Workdays coming with cooler temps
Meanwhile, with the weather cooling down we are looking to hold workdays in the very near future to put some finishing touches on one course restoration project and kick off another. In the coming weeks, we’ll have a workday at Santa Cruz River Park to do some final work, including replacement or improvements to a couple of smaller old teepads, ahead of a commemorative event with the city. We also will be kicking off the Groves Park restoration project with some needed teepad installations and other work while we finalize an overall plan for the course that will include teepads, benches and signage. Stay tuned for posts here and on FB announcing these workdays very soon.
