Rillito DGC, Tucson’s newest course opens

Rillito River Disc Golf Course is open! Baskets are in at Rillito. Big thanks to course developer and TDGA board member Dave Shircore and Pima County for making this happen, and for all the folks who sponsored baskets and came out to help install baskets. The course is still a little rough and mosquitos are a challenge, but the course and the bugs will break in and we’ll be looking to add teepads and signage.

The course is north off Ruthrauff Road just east of La Cholla Blvd, just as the road turns there is a driveway with a low concrete Rillito River Park sign (mostly visible coming from the east just as the road straightens, it’s a driveway that also has a Dead End 100 ft. sign, drive back and you’ll run into the parking lot. While we’re working on hole signage, there is a main sign you can snap a pic of. Teepads are marked by bricks in the ground – yellow for A, green for B, orange for C.  There are no lights (this is a dawn to dusk park) nor water but the county plans on installing a porta jon.
