**In a handicapped league, you establish a handicap, based on your average score against par (adjusted each time you play in the same league) and every week you play against that handicap. Prize placing is awarded based on your score after handicap, allowing players of widely different skill levels to compete on a more level basis. For example, if you establish a handicap by shooting 2 under par, your handicap is 2. So the next time you play, two throws (strokes) would be added to you raw score for final placing.
